Description

SehatGuru is an AI-powered nutrition tracking application designed specifically for Pakistani cuisine. The project addresses a critical gap in existing health apps that fail to recognize local dishes or provide culturally relevant nutritional guidance. The system has two core components: a custom food recognition model trained on 20+ Pakistani dishes that enables users to track their meals through camera-based identification, and a culturally aware RAG chatbot built using ChromaDB, LangChain, and Google Gemini that provides personalized nutrition advice grounded in Pakistani Dietary Guidelines and a comprehensive database of over 200 local dishes with 40+ nutritional attributes. SehatGuru demonstrates how machine learning can be adapted to serve underrepresented markets when domain expertise and cultural context are properly encoded into the system architecture.
